Major Pickup: Freshman Standout Casey Barner Transfers to McEachern

Powder Springs, GA – Georgia high school football just got a little more interesting. 2028 FS/WR Casey Barner has transferred from Douglas High School to McEachern High School, giving head coach Kareem Reid and the Indians a serious playmaker on both sides of the ball.
Even though he’s just a freshman, Barner plays like a seasoned upperclassman. Standing at 5’11, 186 pounds, he’s a heat-seeking missile in the secondary—flying downhill with brute force and laying big hits that turn heads. His freshman season at Douglas was nothing short of impressive. On defense, he recorded 60 tackles, four tackles for loss, and five interceptions, including a pick-six, while also proving to be a scoring threat with 10 total touchdowns between offense and defense.
Barner doesn’t just play—he takes over games. Whether he’s locking down the secondary, breaking tackles on offense, or making plays on special teams, his presence is impossible to ignore. His physicality, ball skills, and playmaking ability have already earned him recognition as a MaxPreps Freshman All-American.
