Kisean Johnson Records First 100-Yard Game in Western Kentucky’s 31-0 Victory Over Eastern Kentucky
Bowling Green, KY – Wide receiver Kisean Johnsondidn’t take long to make an impact at Western Kentucky. In just his second game with the Hilltoppers, the former Alabama State star had his first 100-yard game, hauling in 6 catches for 119 yards, including a 42-yarder, as WKU took down Eastern Kentucky 31-0.
This milestone marks an important step in Johnson’s transition from the FCS to FBS level. At Alabama State, Johnson was the top target, racking up 819 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns in 2023. His ability to dominate the SWAC earned him All-SWAC First Team honors and a reputation as a big-play receiver. Now, he’s proving that those skills can translate to the FBS stage.
While his first 100-yard game is a significant achievement, Johnson’s true test will come against tougher FBS competition. With his speed and playmaking ability, he has the potential to become a key weapon for WKU QB TJ Finley. The question now is whether he can consistently deliver those performances against higher-level opponents. For Johnson, this 100-yard game is just the beginning, and WKU fans will be watching closely as he continues to develop in 2024
