Jaxon Howard, Promising LSU Edge Rusher, Entering Transfer Portal

Jaxon Howard Transfer Portal

Jaxon Howard, the highly-touted LSU redshirt freshman edge rusher, has made the decision to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. A former 4-star recruit and the top prospect from Minnesota in the 2023 class, Howard’s move marks a notable shift in his collegiate football journey. Last season, Howard played in five games for the Tigers, making modest contributions with a tackle and a quarterback hurry in the ReliaQuest Bowl against Wisconsin. He also showed potential during LSU’s spring game last year, recording four tackles and a sack.

Despite being a backup to Bradyn Swinson and Sai’vion Jones, Howard was poised for a larger role this coming fall, making his transfer decision somewhat unexpected. Howard is seeking a new program where he can further develop his talents and boost his football profile. His departure comes during a spring transfer window for LSU, a period seeing numerous players making moves, including notable transfers to SEC schools and others choosing various college programs
